The Energy Academy 2022 has been launched

This is the eleventh edition of one of the most popular programs of the Lesław A. Paga Foundation, which helps in the development of talented students and graduates who not only want to develop in the energy industry, but also understand that business is based on good relations and commitment. This is a program for future leaders.

From among hundreds of applications, 26 people were selected this year to take part in two-month workshops, training sessions and lectures. The leitmotif of this year’s Energy Academy is energy security in the era of transformation. Academy students will reflect on the optimal strategy to climate neutrality. Regardless which energy source is chosen, each scenario must ensure Poland’s energy security.

The energy transformation that is taking place before our eyes is the future energy system construction without fossil fuels, without polluting emissions. To do this, we need ambitious, brave, out-of-the-box thinking young people who will now contribute to building an innovative Polish economy, our safe future, and thus increasing the quality of our lives. That is why we have been cooperating with the Energy Academy for years and we are its Strategic Partner

Iwona Sierżęga

member of the Management Board of the Polenergia Group

Polenergia has been supporting the Energy Academy for many years and providing valuable, practical knowledge in the areas in which we operate. This year, we will introduce the participants of the Academy to the offshore wind farm market, which will be discussed by Łukasz Piotrowicz – technology office manager at the Offshore Wind Farm Department of the Polenergia Group. There will be also hydrogen topic – with a strong team of Emilia Makarewicz, the Director of Hydrogen Projects Development of the Polenergia Group together with Department employees – Radosław Gnutek, Aleksander Korytowski and Mateusz Krzak – who will talk about the role of hydrogen in decarbonising difficult areas of industry. Artur Kalicki, Development Director at Polenergia eMobility, will talk about the development of electromobility in Polish and foreign markets, and will reveal what is the key to success in this market: cars, charging stations, or maybe software infrastructure. Polenergia Photovoltaic will introduce the topic of the role of prosumers in the energy transformation, and a guide to that world, including Polenergia 360o, will be Kamil Sankowski, member of the Management Board of Polenergia Fotowoltaika. Grzegorz Lot, Vice President of the Management Board of Polenergia Dystrybucja and member of the Management Board of Polenergia Sprzedaż, will lead the mentoring session for the participants of the Energy Academy.

Polenergia has also prepared for the participants of the Academy a competition case, which will be presented by the group at the Grand Final of the 11th edition of the Academy of Energy on November 9.
