Educating the future workforce for the offshore wind energy sector

Polenergia engages in cooperation with numerous academic centers to facilitate cooperation and flow of knowledge and experience between academia and business. Polenergia has signed an agreement with the Centre for Sustainable Development of the University of Gdańsk and has assumed patronage over a two-semester postgraduate course “Education for sustainable development: offshore wind energy”.

In order to support professional development of women in the renewable energy sector, the company funded tuition for 2 female students in this course.  Polenergia employees have been a permanent element of the didactic team in this specialization also at other universities (for example as part of the prior cooperation with the Gdańsk University of Technology in establishing the specialization of Offshore Wind Farm Development).

The Company continues its cooperation with the L. Paga Foundation, in which Polenergia employees specializing in offshore energy are lecturers for the “Energy Academy”. We are also cooperating with the Maritime University of Szczecin, providing systematic support for the training of Polish personnel for the broadly defined energy sector, including offshore energy.
