Biodiversity in Polenergia Group’s ESG Strategy

Biodiversity in Polenergia Group’s ESG Strategy

Biodiversity is the foundation of life on Earth and a key element of sustainable development. For the Polenergia Group, it is an integral part of the sustainable energy transition. The Sustainable Development Strategy, adopted in 2023 with a time horizon extending to 2030, reflects the Group’s commitment to the United Nations 2030 Agenda and supports the objectives of the European Green Deal, which aims to achieve climate neutrality in the European Union by 2050.

The Polenergia Group prioritizes achieving strong financial performance in a responsible manner, considering the needs of all its stakeholders, including local communities and the natural environment. The green energy it provides is generated from assets developed with respect for nature, contributing to the restoration and preservation of ecosystems. These efforts align with the European Green Deal regulations, including the Nature Restoration Law. As highlighted by the European Commission, the new law on nature restoration is the first of its kind across the continent and represents a key element of the EU's biodiversity protection strategy. The Group actively supports these goals through on-the-ground initiatives focused on ecosystem restoration and protection.

A just energy transition is fundamental to the success of the Green Deal. The Polenergia Group pursues this goal based on the principles of responsibility and partnership, which translate into concrete initiatives, including:

A key aspect of Polenergia Group’s biodiversity protection and ecosystem restoration efforts is building partnerships. Collaborations with organizations such as UNEP/GRID-Warsaw, the League for Nature Conservation, and independent naturalists provide Polenergia with professional expertise and experience in active environmental protection.
