In June 2025, as part of the Polenergia Group's employee volunteer programme ‘MAMY MOC’ (We Have the Power), we organised two unique events – Eco-Rafting under the slogan ‘Together for cleaner rivers’.
The goal was not only to spend time together and integrate, but above all to take real action to protect the aquatic ecosystems, in line with the idea of sustainable development.
The first Eco-Rafting event took place on 6 June on the Trzebośnica River near the Nowa Sarzyna Combined Heat and Power Plant. The event was attended by about 35 people – employees of the Nowa Sarzyna Power Plant (ENS) and members of the invited ‘Dobry Dom’ Association, which has been supporting people with disabilities since 2004 through rehabilitation and activation activities and running training flats.
The second trip took place on 28 June on the picturesque Liwiec River and attracted nearly 50 employees and their families from Polenergia Group companies in Warsaw. Both events shared a common goal – active care for the aquatic environment. During the 11-kilometre canoeing trip, participants collected waste from the riverbed and banks.
In total, approximately 240 kilograms of waste were removed and sent for recycling. The rubbish included bottles, old tyres, furniture, and even discarded household appliances – all polluting the water and posing a real threat to local wildlife and plant life.

Eco-Rafting is an excellent example of how the Polenergia Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities can translate into concrete environmental and social effects. The initiative directly supports the implementation of the 14th UN Sustainable Development Goal – ‘Life below water’, which focuses on the protection of aquatic ecosystems – both seas and oceans, as well as rivers, which play a fundamental role in their maintenance.
Thanks to the commitment of our employees, we are showing that business is part of positive change. Shared responsibility for the natural environment is one of the pillars of the Polenergia Group’s sustainable development strategy.
