Sports and Health Initiatives Undertaken in 2025

Life and health are fundamental values that the Polenergia Group places at the highest priority. As an active and responsible neighbor, Polenergia identifies the needs of local communities in this area and provides financial support for initiatives addressing those needs.

  • Volunteer and State Fire Brigades,
  • children’s and youth sports clubs as well as primary schools,
  • municipalities and organizations promoting sports activities,
  • associations and foundations promoting a healthy lifestyle and conducting health awareness campaigns.

Activities undertaken in support of Volunteer and State Fire Brigades are described in a separate article: Polenergia for Safety: Supporting the State and Volunteer Fire Services in 2025 – ESG Service.

The Polenergia Group actively supports the development of physical activity. Recognizing the importance of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle — particularly among the youngest members of society — Polenergia engages in initiatives that encourage the widespread participation in sports and regular physical exercise. In its efforts, the Group places special emphasis on activities aimed at children and young people, as well as seniors, people with disabilities, and children from families facing challenging social circumstances.

Support for Sports Clubs

In 2025, the Polenergia Group continued to provide financial support to sports clubs representing a wide range of disciplines, including acrobatics, running, football, handball, cycling, sailing, martial arts, and archery.

Among them, particular recognition should be given to clubs that have consistently achieved sporting success over many years: the acrobatics club Akro-Pasja from Słupsk, the cycling club Azalia from Brzóza Królewska, and the wrestling club Bloczek Team from Pelplin. Athletes representing these clubs regularly achieve notable sports results and actively contribute to promoting their disciplines among their peers.

In 2025, Polenergia provided funding to 30 sports clubs.

Support for Municipalities and Organizations Promoting Sports Activities

Many municipalities and organizations are actively involved in initiatives aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle. Local governments invite residents to participate in sports picnics, during which competitions are organized for adults, children, and young people.

Polenergia supports the organization of local sports events. In 2025, the Group co-financed the 5th edition of the Run with a View of the Volcano, held in Zagrodno (within the areas of the Łukaszów and Modlikowice Wind Farms). Polenergia also supported the organization of the Municipal Cycling Rally along the Windmill Trail and the Run along the Windmill Trail in Żuromin (within the area of the Dębsk Wind Farm). Funds provided by the Polenergia Group are allocated to the purchase of prizes for both younger and older participants, as well as to the organization of the events.

In 2025, Polenergia provided support to 31 municipalities and organizations promoting sports activities.

Support for Associations and Foundations Conducting Health Campaigns

For many years, Polenergia has supported associations and foundations conducting various health-related initiatives, including health promotion campaigns, awareness-raising activities focused on cancer prevention, and initiatives addressing mental health disorders.

  • the CukierAsy Association of Parents of Children with Diabetes, which supports sports activation among children living with type 1 diabetes,
  • the Dotyk Motyla Association, which organizes activities for people living with cancer or cancer survivors,
  • the Q Zmianom Association, which supports children and young people in need of psychological assistance,
  • the Siła Mam Association, which brings together parents and caregivers of people with disabilities, working to promote social inclusion and foster attitudes based on understanding and respect.

Employee Engagement at Polenergia Group

The health and well-being of Polenergia Group employees are of great importance to the company. Therefore, initiatives promoting a healthy and active lifestyle are also addressed to employees at all levels of the organization.

POWER UP! Sports Challenge

POWER UP! is a corporate sports challenge delivered through a mobile application provided by an external company, Activy Ltd. The challenge, launched in 2023 and continued in 2024–2025, aims to motivate Polenergia Group employees to engage in physical activity, track their steps, and adopt healthy habits, including cycling or walking to work.

All activities undertaken as part of the challenge contributed to achieving a charitable goal by enabling participants to collect points, which were then converted by the Polenergia Group into a donation of PLN 30,000. In 2025, for the second consecutive year, the donation was awarded to the CukierAsy Association, which supports the sports development of children living with type 1 diabetes. In addition to its charitable purpose, the challenge also focused on increasing participant engagement and strengthening teamwork. The initiative lasted three months, from April to June.

The POWER UP! challenge was designed to allow each participant to choose the form of activity best suited to their individual abilities and preferences. Points were awarded for engaging in various sports disciplines. More than 200 Polenergia employees took part in the challenge.

The key outcomes of the initiative included developing habits of regular physical activity, fostering participant integration, reducing CO₂ emissions related to commuting, and — most importantly — actively engaging the company community in achieving a shared charitable goal.

As the initiative has become an integral part of the company culture, its continuation is planned. A more detailed summary of this year’s edition of the challenge is available on the ESG website: Final of the 3rd Edition of the Sports Challenge POWER UP! – ESG Service

Bike Day

On April 9, 2025, Polenergia Group employees once again had the opportunity to use a mobile bicycle service at the company’s offices in Warsaw and Nowa Sarzyna. The purpose of Bike Day is to encourage employees to choose bicycles as an environmentally friendly means of commuting to work.

During Bike Day, professional bicycle service technicians provided maintenance services, including a general technical inspection of the bike, adjustment of derailleurs and brakes, checking of bolt connections, lubrication of the drivetrain, and tire pressure checks. The initiative attracted significant interest — over 70 bicycles were serviced as part of Bike Day in 2025.

As a surprise, Bike Day participants received gifts from the Health and Safety Department, including a highly practical bicycle repair kit, a first aid kit, and a reflective safety vest.

OHS, Health and Safety Webinars and First Aid Training

At the Polenergia Group, the safety of employees and all individuals involved in the Group’s projects is treated as a top priority. In 2025, periodic occupational health and safety (OHS) training sessions were held at the Nowa Sarzyna Combined Heat and Power Plant (ENS). These sessions were combined with training aimed at improving skills in the use of portable fire-fighting equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus.

In addition to mandatory training, Polenergia also provides supplementary first aid training for all interested employees. Such training is essential for both office-based and field employees. Each year, Polenergia organizes in-person training sessions as well as online webinars.

  • May 2025 – During the webinar “A Life May Depend on Your Reaction. Refresh Your First Aid Knowledge!”, the basic principles of first aid were discussed.
  • June 2025 – The webinar “Safe Summer. How to Avoid Holiday Hazards?” raised participants’ awareness of safety rules during summer leisure activities. The session covered topics such as preventing heatstroke, avoiding rip currents while swimming, appropriate reactions when encountering a bear, and safe behavior in the mountains during thunderstorms.
  • October 2025 – The webinar “Small Body, Big Challenges – First Aid Training for Infants and Children” focused on providing first aid to children in life-threatening situations. Participants learned about the key differences between first aid procedures for adults, infants, and children, which require different approaches.
  • December 2025 – The webinar “Holiday and New Year’s First Aid and Updates to Guidelines for the Coming Year” addressed first aid in life-threatening situations during the holiday season. Participants discussed, among other topics, how to respond to falls from height, alcohol-related injuries, and injuries caused by fireworks.
  • May 2025 – In-person first aid training was held twice in May. During the sessions, participants gained practical first aid skills, including proper wound dressing, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on adult and child manikins, and appropriate response to burns and various types of injuries.
  • October 2025 – During in-person fire safety training, participants became familiar with key fire protection regulations and principles, evacuation procedures, and appropriate actions in the event of a fire or other emergencies. A practical component was also conducted, covering the use of portable fire-fighting equipment and selected fire safety devices. The training was delivered in two sessions to enable a larger number of employees to participate.

In October and November, first aid training was also organized for employees of Polenergia’s Nowa Sarzyna Combined Heat and Power Plant. The training was delivered in five sessions in order to reach as many employees as possible.
