Thanks to cooperation with Polenergia, workshops dedicated to nest boxes and the spring habits of birds were held at the Żuromin Cultural Center. The meeting was led by journalist, teacher, and ornithology enthusiast Adam Ejnik.
On March 16, 2026, an educational meeting for 4th-grade students from the Żuromin municipality took place at the Żuromin Cultural Center, focusing on birds and their nesting needs.
The event was attended by many students who took part in the workshops with great interest. The meeting began with a lecture by ornithologist Adam Ejnik and a screening of a nature film. In an accessible and engaging way, Mr. Ejnik introduced children to the world of birds — their habits, habitats, and the challenges they face in a changing environment. Students learned, among other things, why birds are increasingly lacking natural nesting sites and how each of us can help them. Nature-related fun facts and the film, which allowed participants to observe birds up close, were particularly well received.
Afterwards, the children took part in tasks and games related to the workshop theme, reinforcing their newly acquired knowledge in a practical and engaging way. Each participant received a nest box prepared by a local carpentry workshop, which they could decorate according to their own ideas. The boxes will now be placed in the students’ gardens and surroundings, providing real support for birds during the breeding season.

The event was made possible thanks to the support of Polenergia, which financed the purchase of the nest boxes as part of the environmental education program Play Green with Us!®. The program was created to help educational institutions implement climate education activities. The goal of the Polenergia Group is to support education and promote positive, active engagement for the climate and the environment.
Nest boxes provide safe nesting sites for many bird species whose natural habitats are increasingly limited due to human activity, urbanization, and tree cutting. The completed project reflects efforts to preserve biodiversity—one of the key objectives of the Play Green with Us!® program.
We are pleased that we were able to combine education, ecology, and practical action for nature. Initiatives like this are extremely important, as they build environmental awareness, teach responsibility for the environment, and show that even small actions can have a real impact on improving living conditions for animals. By engaging children directly, we strengthen their sense of agency and encourage them to continue caring for the natural world around them.
