6.75 ha
fresh meadow
Built on several plots in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, the Puck Wind Farm will soon gain a new, green area designed to support biodiversity.
Polenergia Group, the owner of one of the plots, has decided to establish a fresh meadow covering 6.75 hectares.

This decision comes as a result of a requirement imposed by the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR), which obligated the company to maintain the agricultural character of the plot. Among various options, creating a multi-year fresh meadow turned out to be the solution best aligned with the Group’s activities and environmental goals.
The idea was developed in consultation with experts in sustainable and regenerative farming, as well as biologists, who welcomed the initiative. Polenergia commissioned a scientific study to identify the optimal selection of plant species for sowing, ensuring the establishment of a meadow intended for extensive, low-impact use.
The seed mix includes native and well-adapted plant species naturally occurring in the Gdańsk Pomerania region. This careful selection, combined with naturally emerging meadow species, aims to partially restore the region’s original vegetation. Ultimately, the meadow is expected to correspond to a habitat type 6510 — “Lowland and upland fresh meadows used extensively (Arrhenatherion elatioris)” — a habitat that has been disappearing in many parts of Europe. This will have a positive impact on preserving local plant biodiversity.
The sowing took place in mid-April 2025, following the necessary agrotechnical preparations, which included soil conditioning and removing crop residues left by the plot’s previous owner.
Shifting the land use from cereal cultivation to a fresh meadow will boost biodiversity within the Puck Wind Farm area, creating a more balanced and ecologically valuable environment.
