Initiatives Supporting Diversity and Equal Opportunities in 2025

At Polenergia, we believe that diversity and equal opportunities are the foundation for building stronger communities as well as more innovative and engaged teams. As a socially responsible organization, in 2025 we implemented a series of initiatives aimed at promoting equal opportunities in local communities and supporting diversity among our employees.

Actions Supporting Local Communities

Polenergia collaborates with individuals and organizations working on behalf of people with disabilities and older adults. Detailed information about active initiatives in this area is discussed during initial meetings with municipal authorities.

  • Women’s Rural Circles (Koła Gospodyń Wiejskich, KGW) and associations that empower women,
  • Senior Clubs and organizations supporting elderly individuals,
  • Associations aiding people with disabilities and those in difficult life circumstances,
  • Social Welfare Homes.

Support for Women’s Rural Circles and associations empowering women

The Polenergia Group responds to the needs of women’s organizations that focus on empowering local communities and supporting women themselves. Financial support provided by the Group includes, among other things, the equipping of village community centers managed by members of Rural Women’s Associations (Koła Gospodyń Wiejskich – KGW). Support is also provided for community events organized by KGW members, such as municipal Children’s Days, local village celebrations, and family picnics.

In 2025, Polenergia provided funding to 23 Rural Women’s Associations.

The Group actively participates in local initiatives, including supporting harvest festivals, fairs, picnics, and thematic events. As part of this collaboration, creative and craft workshops are also organized, such as “Terrarium in a Jar” sessions or traditional bread-baking workshops. These initiatives aim not only to support local organizations but also to strengthen social ties, create spaces for meetings, and foster collaboration within the community.

Support for Senior Clubs and organizations supporting elderly individuals

Polenergia actively promotes the engagement of older adults, especially those living in small towns. Thanks to the company’s financial support, seniors have the opportunity to participate in activities such as art workshops, sports classes, and excursions. Funding is also provided for events that are important to this group, including Senior Days, senior balls, and holiday gatherings during Christmas and Easter.

In 2025, Polenergia provided support to 2 Senior Clubs.

Support for associations aiding people with disabilities and those in difficult life circumstances

Polenergia funded a range of events and initiatives aimed at supporting people with disabilities and individuals experiencing challenging life situations.

  • A gold panning tournament for people with disabilities in Złotoryja, organized by the Animus Foundation (located in the Łukaszów and Modlikowice Wind Farm areas);
  • Sports competitions organized by the Community Self-Help Center (Środowiskowy Dom Samopomocy) in Krzęcin;
  • Regular activities conducted by the Social Cooperative “Szansa” from Żuromin, supporting people in difficult life situations.

In 2025, the Group funded 34 projects supporting people with disabilities and those facing challenging circumstances.

Actions for employees

Polenergia recognizes diversity, equal treatment, and an inclusive organizational culture as a strategically significant business area. This commitment is reflected in the Polenergia Group Strategy as well as in its ethical values, including the observance and promotion of human rights, respect and openness in the workplace, environmental protection, and dialogue.

Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Policy

In 2024, the Polenergia Group developed its Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Policy. Following its creation, consultations were conducted with employees across the Group. During these consultations, every Polenergia employee had the opportunity to provide feedback or raise concerns, either anonymously or under their own name.

Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Policy of the Polenergia Group was officially adopted on October 30, 2024.

In April 2025, a Diversity Committee was established, composed of employees from various companies within the Polenergia Group. The Committee’s purpose is to develop proposals for initiatives and activities that promote an open, diverse, and inclusive work environment. It aims to create a workplace where all individuals are treated equally and with respect, regardless of their personal characteristics or background.

Workshops and Webinars

As part of the “Energy of Diversity” project, the Polenergia Group organized a series of webinars focused on key topics related to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace. During the session on neurodiversity, participants learned about effective communication in diverse teams, adapting collaboration styles to individual needs, and creating an environment that leverages each team member’s strengths.

Another webinar addressed intergenerational differences in teamwork, highlighting ways to harness the potential of generational diversity to improve collaboration and build stronger relationships within teams. The session on supporting working parents focused on challenges employees face at different stages of their professional and family lives.

The webinar on inclusive communication covered topics related to brain function and conscious management of thought processes, emphasizing the importance of using the space between stimulus and response.

The series concluded with a session on international collaboration, conducted in the spirit of psychological safety and inclusivity. Participants explored methods for consciously considering diverse perspectives and work styles, fostering openness, and identifying the needs of others.

In 2025, a series of webinars on change management was also launched, addressing issues related to organizational change and helping participants understand the emotions that accompany it.

Additionally, Polenergia initiated a series of Insights Discovery workshops aimed at understanding one’s own communication style, recognizing behavioral preferences, and developing collaboration and conflict resolution skills. Participants learned to identify the communication styles of their colleagues. These workshops will continue next year, with a plan to include all employees by the end of 2026. This initiative will further strengthen an open and inclusive work environment.

WE HAVE THE POWER! Employee Volunteering Grant Program

In 2024, the Polenergia Group launched the WE HAVE THE POWER! employee volunteering grant program. Within this initiative, volunteers carry out projects supporting social organizations of their choice, with financial backing from Polenergia.

The WE HAVE THE POWER! program not only supports selected organizations but also contributes to the development of Polenergia employees’ potential. By participating in volunteer initiatives, employees have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, build effective teams, and actively support people in crisis, individuals with disabilities, and animal welfare causes.

The first edition of the program is described on the Polenergia Group ESG website: In Polenergia WE HAVE THE POWER! – ESG Service

Climate Reading – Books on Diversity

Polenergia offices in Warsaw and Nowa Sarzyna feature company libraries, established in 2023 as part of the Climate Reading initiative. Initially, the libraries contained books exclusively on climate and nature topics. In 2024, they were expanded to include titles focused on diversity and equal opportunities. In 2025, the libraries were further updated with the latest publications in these areas.

Noble Package and Letters to Santa

In 2025, Polenergia once again organized christmas support for people in need. As part of this year’s initiatives, employees collected food items, textiles, electronics, and rehabilitation equipment, which were used to prepare gift packages for the Letters to Santa campaign. The packages were distributed to seniors and individuals with disabilities living in senior care centers located near Polenergia’s projects.

Employees from across the Polenergia Group participated in the collection. Additional initiatives were organized by the teams of Polenergia Obrót and Polenergia Elektrociepłownia Nowa Sarzyna, who conducted their own collections and supported families from various regions of Poland as part of the Noble Package campaign.

The aim of all collections was to enable selected families, seniors, and people with disabilities to spend Christmas in a safe, peaceful, and comfortable manner. Polenergia achieved this goal by providing tangible material support as well as the reassurance that recipients are not left alone.

Such initiatives bring benefits not only to the recipients but also to the organization as a whole. They strengthen social engagement, foster a culture of collaboration and empathy, and integrate teams around shared values. These are concrete actions that demonstrate real support for local communities and directly improve the lives of those in need.

At Polenergia, diversity and equal opportunities are not just values — they are the foundation of our everyday operations. In 2025, we demonstrated that real change is possible when commitment, collaboration, and consistent action come together. We are proud to support both our employees and local communities, creating an environment where diversity is a source of strength and equal opportunities are the standard.

At the same time, we recognize that this is only the beginning. In the coming years, we will continue our initiatives, further promoting the values that are most important to us and contributing to the creation of a fairer and more inclusive world.
