Polenergia as a Partner of the Renewable Energy Competition in Pelplin

In November, the final of the 3rd Inter-School Eco-Logical OZE Omnibus took place — a competition organized for primary school students from the Town and Municipality of Pelplin. Once again, Polenergia was a partner of the event, supporting educational initiatives related to renewable energy sources and environmental protection.

The first stage of the competition was held in each of the municipality’s schools and involved the entire student community. The second — final — stage took place at the Education and Upbringing Centre in Rudno. The participating schools competed in three age categories: grades II–III, IV–VI, and VII–VIII. Six schools qualified for the final, represented by a total of 72 students.

Competition Tasks and Winners

In the final, students from the three age categories competed in four diverse tasks, including a knowledge test, preparing a poster with a renewable energy slogan, logical tasks in the form of ecological dominoes or puzzles, and team games related to ecology. The scope and difficulty of the tasks were adjusted to the participants’ age — from waste sorting for younger students to charades and a “wheel of fortune” for the older ones. All activities were connected by the themes of renewable energy and environmental protection.

The main prize went to the students from the Education and Upbringing Centre in Rudno.

During each day of the final, an individual competition called “First Come, First Served” was also held, in which the top-scoring participants from the tests competed. A total of 9 individual prizes (cash vouchers) and 12 team prizes were awarded.

Award Ceremony and Benefits of the Partnership

The prizes were presented on behalf of the organizers by representatives of Polenergia, municipal authorities, and the school’s management, including Damian Biskup and Sylwia Strusińska-Kaczmarczyk from Polenergia S.A.; Mirosław Chyła, Mayor of the Town and Municipality of Pelplin; Anna Ziółkowska from the Pelplin Town and Municipality Office; and Joanna Kriekowska, Principal of the Education and Upbringing Centre in Rudno.

For years, Polenergia has supported educational projects related to renewable energy sources, recognizing them as a real investment in the future. Competitions such as the Eco-Logical OZE Omnibus offer numerous benefits to children and young people: they develop environmental knowledge, promote responsible environmental attitudes, and teach creative thinking and teamwork. Supporting such initiatives also strengthens relationships with local communities and builds awareness of the importance of the energy transition. Through these actions, Polenergia contributes significantly to developing green energy competencies among the younger generation.
