Management Board

President of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A, CEO (Chief Executive Officer)

Adam Purwin joined BRE Bank S.A. in 1999, where, until 2003, he was employed as a relationship manager, credit analyst, currency and deposit specialist and senior relationship manager. From 2003 to 2008 he worked as a senior relationship manager at Bank Polska Kasa Opieki S.A., and then from 2008 to 2009 he worked as a business development manager responsible for M&A transactions in Central and Eastern Europe at Layetana Desarrollos Inmobiliarios. From 2009 to 2011, he was the Director of the Mergers and Acquisitions Office and Head of the Capital Operations Team at Powszechna Kasa Oszczędności Bank Polski S.A.. In 2011, he worked at Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego as Director of the Investment Projects Financing Department and then, from 2012 to 2013, at PKP S.A. as Managing Director for Privatisation and Corporate Governance. From 2013 to 2015, he carried out the following functions at PKP Cargo S.A.: Member of the Board of Management for Finance (2013-2014), Acting President of the Board of Management (2013-2014) and then President of the Board of Management (2014- 2015). In 2015, he was also the President of the Management Board of Advanced World Transport B.V. From 2016 to 2019, he served as Member of the Management Board at Luma Investment S.A.. Since 2020, he has served as a Board Member of the VC Fund at Nunatak Capital sp.z.o.o. and as a Board Member of Statxplorer sp.z.o.o.. He performed functions on the supervisory boards of public companies (including PKM Duda S.A., Herkules S.A. and Protektor S.A.) and companies that are not public companies (including PKO BP Bankowy PTE S.A, KFB Acoustics sp. z o.o. and SentiOne S.A.). Adam Purwin is a graduate of the University of Białystok, where he obtained his Master of Law degree in 2000. In 2006 he completed the Mergers, Acqusitions and Leveraged Finance course at DC Gardner Training London Warsaw, and a year later the Structured Products course at Finance, Trainer International GmbH in Vienna.

Management Board

  • He graduated from the Higher School of Commerce and Law (now Lazarski University) and MBA studies at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, conducted in cooperation with the Warsaw School of Economics.
  • He started his career at the National Bank of Poland as an associate of Prof. Leszek Balcerowicz.
  • He specializes in business transformations, in particular building strategies aimed at increasing value, managing the implementation of key growth factors, changing business models, building financing, crisis management, as well as building and developing teams.
  • He gained experience in European companies operating in various industries.

Second Vice-President of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A

Piotr Tomasz Sujecki is an expert with more than 20 years of professional experience in senior management positions in large corporations in the telecommunications and energy sectors. From 2021 until the end of 2024, he held the position of Member of the Management Board for Finance (CFO) at Światłowód Inwestycje – a joint venture between the Dutch infrastructure fund APG and Orange Polska S.A.

From 2018 to 2021, he was associated with INEA, a Poznan-based telecommunications group, as Member of the Management Board for Finance (CFO). Among other things, he was co-responsible for the implementation of a new strategy focused on the infrastructure business and the Group’s transformation towards the separation of the retail and infrastructure businesses.

In 2014-2016, he was associated with the PGNiG Group where, among other things, he oversaw the process of separating the Group’s retail business into a separate Company and preparing it to operate on the liberalized gas and energy market. He served as Vice President of the Management Board (CFO) responsible for finance, investments, back-office and collection operations at the newly spun-off entity.

Prior to 2014, he was associated with Polkomtel S.A. for more than 10 years. At that company, he held positions such as Director of the Finance Department and Director of Controlling.

He is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics, majoring in finance and banking, and holds an MBA from Université du Québec in Montreal.

Member of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A.

Łukasz Buczyński specializes in the area of asset management and maintenance in the renewable energy industry. He has many years of experience in managing implementation and improvement projects. He is a graduate of the Bialystok University of Technology – he completed his studies in the field of construction, earning a master’s degree in engineering. At Kozminski University in Warsaw, he earned an Executive MBA, followed by a postgraduate diploma in corporate financial management.

From 2007 to 2012, he worked in an operational position at ERGON Poland, a member of the CRH Group, dealing with sales, design and implementation of cubic and bridge building structures. Between 2012 and 2016, working at the Polish branch of Senvion, he was responsible for the construction of wind turbines in Poland and Belgium.

Between 2016-2020, after becoming a director at Senvion, he built and managed the international service department, carrying out its activities on onshore and offshore wind farms in the European Union. In the field of offshore wind farms, Łukasz Buczyński and his team were one of the pioneers of this sector in Poland.

In 2020, he worked with Retail Robotics as Head Operations & Maintenance, helping to lay the groundwork for its future operations in installing and servicing the machines it manufactures in Poland and France.

From 2020 to 2024, Łukasz Buczyński served as Head of Asset Operations at EDP Renewables, where he was responsible for managing the Polish assets, which represented one of the largest wind and solar RES fleets owned by private investors in Poland.

From 2023 to 2024, Łukasz Buczyński chaired the O&M group within the Polish Wind Energy Association.

Supervisory Board

She got a Master Degree in sinology at the Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures and in political science at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She was educated in Shanghai, Beijing, at the Rockefeller Foundation and the Bertelsmann Foundation. She has a many-year experience of working at statutory bodies of commercial law companies. Since 2013 a member of the Supervisory Board of Kulczyk Investments, in the years 2015–2018 the Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of KI. The co-founder of the Values Consulting Group which conducts training on business psychology. In 2013–2016 the Vice-President of the Polish Olympic Committee. The initiator of the Polish branch of the Green Cross International. The originator and co-founder of the Kulczyk Foundation, a non-profit organisation providing aid in Poland and in the world. She is a member of the Board of the UN Global Compact Poland and the Ambassador of the SOS Children’s Villages in Poland. She is a member of Young Leaders for Tomorrow, a global initiative of young leaders. The Dame of the Order of the Smile.

Tom O’Brien is a Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield’s Renewable Power Group, responsible for leading and developing the European business.

Mr. O’Brien joined Brookfield in 2014, following the acquisition of Bord Gaís Energy’s Irish renewable power business and has since held a number of roles across the organization, most recently acting as Chief Financial Officer for the European renewable power business. Prior to joining Brookfield, Mr. O’Brien held senior commercial and financial roles across several organizations. Mr. O’Brien is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Szymon Adamczyk is a graduate of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. He also completed postgraduate studies in management at the University of Economics in Katowice.

He started his professional career in 1992 in a company operating in the steel industry. Between 2000-2002 he was involved in the gas station construction industry in Poland. From 2002 to 2023, he developed, managed and supervised Alumetal SA, a company specializing in scrap recycling and production of aluminium alloys, primarily for the automotive industry.

Since 2018, he was or has been a member of the Supervisory Boards of many industrial companies, among others, in the recycling and metal production, agricultural, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors, including Polenergia S.A., Torpol S.A., U_Cont Sp. z o. o., Alumetal S.A., Feerum S.A..

He provides extensive advisory services to companies from the aluminium recycling and steel industry sectors.

During 1997-2002 Orest Nazaruk has been working for Arthur Andersen Company, auditing financial statements of banks and insurance companies and providing restructuring advisory services for companies from oil, gas and energy sectors. After that, during 2002-2004 he has been working in the Ministry of State Treasury as a Deputy Director in Restructuring and Public Aid Department being responsible for restructuring programmes preparation and supervision over state-owned oil, gas and energy companies. During 2004-2006 Orest Nazaruk took part in establishing independent gas Transmission System Operator Gaz-System and has been a member of its first management board responsible for finance and trade. During next years – 2006-2015 – he has been working as a member of management boards of companies: Selbud Inwestycje, PGNiG Energia and PGNiG Technologie as a restructuring process advisor. He was a member of numerous supervisory boards of oil, gas and energy companies (Towarowa Giełda Energii, Anwil, PKN Orlen, Mazowiecka Spółka Gazownictwa, Elektrociepłownia Stalowa Wola).

Orest Nazaruk has graduated from Warsaw University – Faculty of Management, with the risk management on futures market specialization. He has attended numerous international trainings on International Accounting Standards, strategic management, restructuring programmes and risk management on futures market in gas and energy.

Ignacio Paz-Ares Aldanondo is a senior vice-president in Brookfield’s Renewable Energy Group, leading the team responsible for investment origination, analysis and execution across Europe. Mr. Paz-Ares Aldanondo joined Brookfield in 2015 and has held a number of investment roles in Brookfield’s Renewable Energy Group in Europe. He has held his current role since 2019. Prior to joining Brookfield, Mr. Paz-Ares was an investment banking analyst at Citi. Mr. Paz-Ares Aldanondo holds a law and business studies degree from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid.

Emmanuelle Rouchel has over 20 years of experience as legal counsel. She joined Brookfield in 2015 and is a Senior Vice-President and General Counsel for Brookfield´s European Renewable Power Group. Prior to joining Brookfield, Ms. Rouchel was a senior legal counsel in the international upstream oil & gas sector. She started her career at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York, where she focused on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions.

She holds post-graduate law degrees from Columbia University, where she was a Fulbright scholar and a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar, and from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas, as well as a graduate business degree from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP). She is an English solicitor and is also admitted to the Bar in New York and Paris.

Professor Piotr Ciżkowicz is a manager and scientist with many years of experience in building and leading teams with interdisciplinary competences. As a member of the management board of PKP Group, he was responsible for the implementation of capital transactions with a total value exceeding PLN 4 billion (PKP ENERGETYKA, PKP CARGO, Polskie Koleje Linowe, TK Telekom) and real estate transactions with a total value exceeding PLN 1 billion. He has implemented the most extensive railway transformation programme in Poland, including multi-billion investments in rolling stock and railway stations and a comprehensive passenger service improvement programme.

Previously at Ernst&Young, he headed the Economic Strategy Team and also advised on M&A transactions. He led a number of advanced transformation projects in commercial banks (Raiffeissen Bank, Kredyt Bank) and public institutions (National Bank of Poland, Ministry of Finance). He has been a member of the supervisory boards of a number of listed, state-owned and municipal companies, and currently holds this position at PFR Ventures and Nunatak Capital portfolio companies.

Mikołaj Franzkowiak is a law graduate from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where he earned a master’s degree with a specialization in financial law. He also studied law and finance at Erasmus University Rotterdam and completed doctoral studies at the Faculty of Management at Poznań University of Economics and Business.

He holds an international Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification and has participated in numerous training programs in accounting, finance, and management, including postgraduate studies in accounting at Poznań University of Economics and Business.

Mikołaj Franzkowiak began his professional career at Ernst & Young, initially as a lawyer and later as an analyst in the mergers and acquisitions advisory team.

For the past 25 years, he has been involved in financial management. His experience includes working at ENEA S.A. as a Management Board Member (Vice President for Finance), where he was responsible for finance, controlling, IT, and risk management. He also served as a Member of the Supervisory Board at Colian Holding S.A., where he chaired the Audit Committee. Additionally, he worked at BZ WBK (now Santander Bank Polska S.A.) as Director of the Department responsible for controlling and management accounting for corporate clients, as well as Director of the Department overseeing financial accounting for the ALM and Treasury areas. He was also a Member of the Supervisory Board of BZ WBK Faktor sp. z o.o. (a factoring company).

For the past six years, Mikołaj Franzkowiak has been responsible for the financial sector at Emtel System sp. z o.o., one of the leading companies in Poland specializing in teletechnical installations for hospitals.
