The publication, available in both printed and electronic formats, was issued by the FNCE Academic Publishing House in cooperation with the Clean Energy Foundation, Polenergia S.A., and the University of Gdańsk’s special purpose company, Univentum Labs.

The scientific editors of this collective work are Dr hab. Sylwia Mrozowska, Professor at the University of Gdańsk and Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development, and Dr hab. Dorota Pyć, Professor at the University of Gdańsk and Head of the Department of Maritime Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration.

The book presents an interdisciplinary perspective on the development of the offshore wind energy sector in Poland, covering legal, economic, and environmental issues, technical aspects, as well as project management challenges. The chapters combine academic expertise with the authors’ practical experience, demonstrating how education can meaningfully support the energy transition and the achievement of sustainable development goals.

The postgraduate programme Education for Sustainable Development: Offshore Wind Energy is conducted at the University of Gdańsk by the Centre for Research on the Maritime Economy, and previously by the Centre for Sustainable Development. The programme is primarily addressed to individuals seeking to strengthen their competencies in the offshore sector with a view to advancing sustainable development objectives.

Graduates of postgraduate studies in the offshore wind energy sector become not only specialists in their respective fields, but also ‘ambassadors’ of sustainable development — individuals capable of combining interdisciplinary knowledge with practical action and the promotion of best practices within the sector.

Sylwia Mrozowska

By launching postgraduate studies, the University of Gdańsk has set a modern direction for the development of education, integrating diverse disciplines and competencies. The Polenergia Group, as a Partner of the University of Gdańsk and the Centre for Sustainable Development, has supported the project Education for Sustainable Development: Offshore Wind Energy since the first edition of the postgraduate programme. We are convinced that it provides a foundation for knowledge exchange, communication, and the development of cooperation.
