Christmas gingerbread meetings
Polenergia has for years been engaged in projects that genuinely support local communities, strengthen social bonds, and build a culture of cooperation.
These activities are implemented as part of the Polenergia Group’s Social Engagement Policy, wherever the Group develops its projects. We support, among others, educational, environmental, and cultural initiatives. One such initiative was a project implemented in December in cooperation with the Municipality and Town of Żuromin and the Rural Housewives’ Circles operating in this area, entitled “Gingerbread tradition – integration through taste”. This initiative was carried out jointly for the second consecutive year.
As part of the project, 14 Christmas gingerbread meetings were organized in the following villages (sołectwa): Brudnice, Kliczewo, Dębsk, Raczyny, Rzężawy, Poniatowo, Nadratowo, Będzymin, Chamsk, Młudzyn, Kruszewo, Wiadrowo, Olszewo, and Rozwozin. Approximately 700 children from the entire Municipality of Żuromin participated in the gingerbread workshops. This is the area where Polenergia operates the Dębsk Wind Farm project and where it is developing a photovoltaic farm project. Together with their parents, as well as grandparents, children had the opportunity to decorate their own gingerbread cookies, learn about Christmas traditions, and spend time in a creative, joyful atmosphere heralding the holiday season.

The workshops were conducted by members of the Rural Housewives’ Circles, whose commitment, knowledge, and care for the youngest participants created the unique atmosphere of each meeting. Thanks to cooperation with local leaders and institutions, the project was able to reach all interested villages. This initiative shows that local integration is possible and that, by joining forces, it is possible to implement a wonderful activity for the local community.
An integral part of the initiative was also a competition for an ecological Christmas decoration, carried out as part of Polenergia’s educational program Graj z nami w zielone! ®. The aim of the competition was to inspire children to creatively use natural and recycled materials. The final took place with the participation of the Director of the Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Department, ESG Coordinator at Polenergia – Marta Porzuczek.
Polenergia’s social engagement means real actions and real impact. We want to be close to where initiatives important to residents of the areas, in which we develop our projects, are created. What is important to our neighbors is equally important to us – this is how we understand responsible business, and this is how the Polenergia Group operates.
Thank you for the invitation to participate in the unique initiative “Gingerbread tradition – integration through taste”, implemented in the Municipality of Żuromin, as well as for the opportunity to support inspiring ecological competitions organized by the Żuromin Cultural Center. We believe that activities created for people and together with them have the greatest value. That is why we are even more pleased that we can act together.
The Żuromin ecological Christmas decoration competition received a total of 75 works, which together created a unique, Christmas arrangement in the lobby of the Żuromin Cultural Center. Choosing the winners was extremely difficult: all decorations impressed with their creativity and careful craftsmanship. We congratulate all participants of the competition for their engagement and the creation of beautiful works!
By supporting such activities, Polenergia not only strengthens social bonds but also creates space for building positive experiences and developing local talents. Together, we believe that the effects of this year’s “gingerbread tradition” will stay with children and their families for a long time – not only in the form of beautifully decorated gingerbread cookies, but above all as warm memories of time spent together. We also believe that together we will continue to implement further initiatives for the residents of the Municipality of Żuromin, so that community and tradition can continue to develop, setting an example for future generations.
Thanks to the involvement of many parties and partnership-based cooperation – residents, councilors, representatives of local government, villages and village heads, schools and Rural Housewives’ Circles, and also Polenergia – the project once again showed how strong the community of the Municipality of Żuromin is and how much can be achieved by acting together. It was certainly one of the larger initiatives combining tradition, local positive energy, and the joy of celebrating together.
TOGETHER WE CAN DO MORE!
The Polenergia Group would like to sincere thanks to the organizers, namely the Żuromin Cultural Center, as well as to the employees of the Municipal Office, and to the Rural Housewives’ Circles operating in the Municipality of Żuromin for the excellent cooperation and wonderful preparation of the gingerbread meetings. We also thank the village heads for making community centers available and for the outstanding cooperation. Our thanks are addressed to:
Together we create a holiday atmosphere! Together we can do more!
