Final of the 3rd Edition of the Sports Challenge POWER UP!

From the beginning of April until the end of June, Polenergia employees took part in the POWER UP! sports challenge, competing and motivating each other along the way. For the third year in a row, Polenergia converted their kilometers, steps, and even workout time into a financial donation of PLN 30,000 to support the CukierAsy Association!

On July 11, a ceremonial check handover to CukierAsy took place, along with a meeting with the top athletes of this year’s edition. The event was honored by Mr. Mikołaj Illukowicz, President of the CukierAsy Association, as well as Kornel Bogus and Julian Baczewski — members of the Association and players of “Sweet Poland”, a football team made up of children and teenagers living with type 1 diabetes.

Representing Polenergia at the event were members of the Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Department: Magdalena Głowacka-Lorek, Elżbieta Kozłowska, andMonika Żywuszko-Białas. Polenergia ENS athletes Sławomir Myszka, Kazimierz Siuzdak, and Adam Dziki were also present. From Polenergia Fotowoltaika, Katarzyna Zgórzak and Mateusz Szymański joined the event, along with Marysia Danko from Polenergia Obrót.

This year’s challenge gathered an impressive 270 participants, who formed 21 teams.

We invite you to watch the recap video, summarizing the challenge and showcasing the meeting between the athletes and members of the CukierAsy Association!

The goal of the challenge was not only to support the Association but also to promote healthy habits and encourage daily physical activity. That’s why the POWER UP! challenge was designed to allow everyone to choose the form of activity that suited them best. Participants could earn points “On foot” – e.g. walking, running, skiing; “On wheels” – cycling, rollerblading, scootering; through stationary workouts – at the gym, at home, in the pool, or on indoor courts, e.g. playing tennis or volleyball. Thanks to such a wide variety of disciplines, the challenge quickly gained popularity.

In the post-challenge survey, participants most often highlighted the noble cause and team integration as the strongest motivating factors.

We would like to thank and congratulate all participants who joined this challenge and supported the CukierAsy Association with their efforts. Your dedication, commitment, and perseverance made the third edition of the POWER UP! sports challenge a tremendous success!
