Polenergia Group Recognized in the “ESG Ranking. Responsible Management” in 2025

The results of the “ESG Ranking. Responsible Management” (formerly the Responsible Companies Ranking) were announced during a gala held on June 10th, as part of the jubilee conference of the Responsible Business Forum (FOB) titled “Business Transformation – Future Scenarios.”

The “ESG Ranking. Responsible Management,” first published in 2007, is a ranking of the largest companies in Poland assessed in terms of the quality of their responsible and sustainable management practices, in accordance with ESG guidelines. The ranking is partnered by the Responsible Business Forum and the UNEP/GRID Warsaw Centre, with Deloitte serving as the substantive partner responsible for reviewing the responses. The authors of the ranking are Professor Bolesław Rok from Kozminski University and analyst Jarosław Horodecki.

In times when sustainable development is becoming a key element of business strategy, comparative benchmarks and ESG rankings take on special significance. They allow not only for measuring progress but also for honest comparison with others, inspiring further development. Transparency, ambition, and specific indicators – these are the elements that build a company's credibility and strengthen its market position. The ESG Ranking is not just a list – it is a strategic tool that supports business transformation towards responsibility.

Karolina Adamska-Woźniak

Managing Director of the Responsible Business Forum

This year’s survey consisted of 70 diverse questions across eleven sections. This structure reflects the adopted European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The individual sections of the survey address selected general disclosures of a strategic nature; selected environmental disclosures – climate, pollution, water, biodiversity, use of resources; selected social disclosures – the company’s own workforce, value chain workers, affected communities, customers and end-users; and selected governance-related disclosures.

Polenergia Group ranked 11th in the general classification, compared to 16th place the previous year. Additionally, Polenergia took 2nd place in the industry category “Fuels, Energy, Mining” – an advancement of one position from last year’s ranking, which clearly shows that consistency and responsibility in action do not go unnoticed.

These results are the outcome of years of dedicated work by the ESG Team operating within the Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Department, led by Marta Porzuczek. The ESG Team includes Magdalena Głowacka-Lorek, Agnieszka Łukasiak, Małgorzata Czarnecka, and Monika Żywuszko-Białas.

In total, more than 300 of the largest companies operating in the Polish market have participated in the “ESG Ranking. Responsible Management.” The ranking serves as a valuable tool for all large enterprises in Poland as they prepare for sustainability reporting and seek to enhance cooperation with banks. Each year, the ESG Ranking highlights directions for the transformation of management systems.
