In the Polenergia Group, the safety of employees and all individuals involved in the Group's projects is treated as a top priority. In 2024, Polenergia organized training exercises with the State Fire Service (PSP) and Volunteer Fire Service (OSP). The purpose of these exercises was to familiarize firefighters with the hazards encountered during high-altitude rescue operations and to enhance the principles of using specialized equipment.
The training also allowed the firefighters to practice inter-unit collaboration and expand their knowledge of wind turbine operations. The scenarios were tailored to the specific wind farm facilities and the experience level of the local rescue services.
A total of 10 different units from the State Fire Service and 8 units from the Volunteer Fire Service participated. These included specialized high-altitude rescue teams as well as units focused on firefighting and providing aid in various emergency situations.
Furthermore, Polenergia launched the “Support for PSP and OSP Located Near Polenergia Group Projects” program, aimed at equipping both the State Fire Service and the Volunteer Fire Service with specialized equipment, with particular emphasis on gear required for high-altitude operations.
For the Polenergia Group, ensuring the safety of employees and contractors servicing wind turbines is a priority. A sense of security is enhanced by knowing that local firefighters are trained to save lives and provide medical assistance at height. The knowledge and equipment provided to firefighters are also used in rescuing members of the local community.
In addition to high-altitude equipment, firefighters received funding for the purchase of tools, medical rescue kits (including defibrillators), specialized uniforms, and footwear. Funding also covered the purchase of fire trucks, ATVs, and upgrades or renovations of Volunteer Fire Service stations. Additionally, Polenergia supported the training of young firefighters through the Youth Fire Brigades program.
