Local activities of the Nowa Sarzyna Cogeneration Plant

The Company provided financial aid to projects organized by the Pedagogical and Psychological Clinic in Leżajsk, the Leżajsk Region Museum, the Special Educational Center in Leżajsk, the “Leliwa” Social and Cultural Association in Leżajsk, local Voluntary Fire Brigades as well as schools in Leżajsk and Nowa Sarzyna townships. In 2020, in response to the appeals of the local governments for support in the fight with the COVID-19 pandemic, NSCP donated significant funds to finance the purchase of personal protection equipment for the medical personnel and medical equipment for the infectious disease hospital by the Łańcut Medical Center, as well as purchase of personal protection equipment for emergency services and nursing homes in the Nowa Sarzyna township.

In 2020, NSCP assumed the patronage over the robotics lab at the School Complex in Nowa Sarzyna and co-funded the purchase of the following equipment sets for the lab: Renewable Energy Education (solar panel, windmill, meter, smarthub), LEGO SPIKE Education and LEGO WeDo 2.0 Education sets, two LEGO FIRST tournament tables, LEGO FFL Orbit and LEGO FFL Urban City tournament sets and a projector. It should be added that the School obtained additional funds for this project from the Nowa Sarzyna Town and Commune Hall and the Rail Transport Authority, which were used for renovation and purchase of equipment and the remaining furnishings.

In 2020, NSCP continued to sponsor the junior football team at the “UNIA” Sports Club in Nowa Sarzyna. In December 2020, two NSCP employees (as volunteers) and ENS got involved in the Generous Parcel campaign. White goods were purchased and Christmas parcels were prepared for a family in need from the Leżajsk area.

In its efforts to help local communities, Polenergia does not act alone but has been cooperating with other companies in the region for a number of years. Since 2013, the Polenergia Nowa Sarzyna Cogeneration Plant, in collaboration with the Municipal Management Company and CIECH Sarzyna, has been charging uniform heat prices to the less fortunate residents of the Emergency Assistance Housing Estate in Nowa Sarzyna, in accordance with the agreements entered into with these parties. Furthermore, NSCP has been granting, every year since 2014, a discount on heat prices to the subsidized residents.
