Environmental supervision at the construction sites

Polenergia has responsibility to local communities and the environment. This is why, both during the construction and operation of facilities, it takes responsibility for conservation of the environment and biodiversity of the areas and minimizes its negative impact.

Each project developed by Polenergia contains an Environmental and Social Activity Plan, which sets out the requirements for the construction and operation stage of the facility. One of the implemented measures is environmental supervision to verify whether environmental hazards are managed properly.

Currently Polenergia conducts environmental supervision in the area and vicinity of two facilities being built: the Szymankowo Wind Farm and the Dębsk Wind Farm. The scope of supervision includes, among others:

  • training on protection of the environment and conservation of nature carried out during earthworks to minimize the negative impact of the project,
  • training on how to install herpetological fencing and how to handle trapped amphibians and other protected animals,
  • ongoing field supervision over the necessary logging, correct implementation of protective measures and compliance with environmental requirements,
  • regular inspections suitable for the current stage of work.

Based on inspection results and observations, additional action is taken aimed at protecting valuable species, improving knowledge and increasing awareness and sensitivity of local communities to nature, which is possible, among others, thanks to close cooperation with local authorities.
